2027 Clinical Year Information Sessions
The SA MET Unit will be hosting two virtual information sessions for final year medical students who want to apply for a medical internship in South Australia in the 2027 Clinical Year.
Session 1: Internship Application and Allocation Process
Tuesday, 17 March 2026 at 5:00pm – 6:20pm (ACDT [UCT +10:30]).
This session will be presented by SA MET, who will explain the centralised application and allocation process in South Australia.
Session 2: South Australian Local Health Networks
Tuesday, 24 March 2026 at 5:00pm – 7:00pm (ACDT [UCT +10:30]).
In this session you’ll hear directly from doctors and interns who work at South Australia’s Local Health Networks (LHNs). They will provide information on rotations, opportunities, lifestyle and more available at each LHN.

National Audit of Intern Acceptances and Unplaced Applicants
South Australia takes part in the National Audit of Intern Acceptances and Unplaced Applicants, which identifies applicants who are holding multiple intern acceptances across Australia. Applicants who have accepted more than one intern position will be contacted by the National Audit Data Manager. These applicants are then asked to withdraw from all intern positions, except the one that they intend to undertake for their intern year.
