The SA MET Unit coordinates The South Australian Centralised Medical Internship Application and Allocation Process (The Centralised Process) on behalf of SA Health. The Centralised Process allows you to apply for internship across nine Local Health Networks (LHNs) with one application. The Centralised Process runs annually, in line with the National Intern Recruitment Process across Australia.

The 2026 centralised internship process has ended
The Centralised Internship Process closed on 16 October 2026 and the National Late Vacancy Management (LVM) Process commences on 9 November 2026. See the South Australian Centralised Medical Internship Application and Allocation Process Guideline and FAQs below for more information about the National LVM Process.
If you have not been matched to a position at the end of the allocation process in any Australian state or territory, your name will be listed on the National LVM list.
The Late Vacancy Management process is only open to those who have applied to any state or territory in Australia during the national process. If you are not included in the LVM process and you would like to apply for a position in South Australia, you will need to apply directly to the LHNs.
